Working with CABI, over the course of 4 ½ years, I grew their global academy from zero to 28,000 users, from over 140 countries.

The assignment

  • Setting up a sustainable and scalable technology infrastructure
  • Internal awareness-raising of the capabilities of the CABI Academy
  • Promoting the work of the CABI Academy across the global agriculture sector
  • Growing a new team, consisting of permanent and freelance team members, from across CABI's global offices
  • Defining quality standards around online learning
  • Planning and taking through annual budget proposals of over £500,000
  • Taking the Skills for Agriculture framework from nothing to a fully-fledged product, mapped to courses from providers around the world

The outcome

The CABI Academy is now used by thousands of people - having an impact on the quality of advice given to smallholder farmers around the world

The outcome

MIX Diversity has now gone to market with a large suite of high-quality online courses, able to be delivered via their own platform, or via their customers' learning systems - whilst retaining full control of their intellectual property.
